How to Help Your Kid Find Their Dream Bed

by Waverly Wilde

Give your child the bed they’ve been dreaming of with these simple tips.

Find the Right Mattress

Now that your child is getting older, they need a bed that works for them. And one that preferably keeps them asleep so they don’t wake up in the middle of the night and jump into yours.

Make mattress shopping an adventure so that it’s fun for your little one. You’ll probably want a twin-size mattress, so make sure that your kid lays down on a few and lets you know how each one feels. That way when you guys get the bed, your kid will feel like they got to make a really big decision and that this new mattress is all theirs.

Make the Room Feel Safe

Just like a house isn’t a home without the proper care and love, a mattress isn’t a bed without a sense of security. Your child needs to feel safe in their room in order to get comfortable, so it’s up to you to help them achieve that.

There are many different routes you can go to make them feel secure in their room - looking under the bed and in the closet every night for them is a great example. Reading them a story before they fall asleep is a fantastic way to get their mind off the monsters is also a rather successful way.

Get Decorative

Every new mattress is a clean slate for your little artist to cover. This is their chance to really let their personality shine and make them love their bed just a little more. One fun way to explore bed sheets and covers is by shopping together. If you let them choose which ones they want, they’ll feel like they got to make an important decision and enjoy the covers even more.

It’s important that every kid finds a mattress that they want to sleep on -- for the WHOLE night. Help them find a cozy mattress at our store and then set it up in the perfect space so that their room is exactly where they want to be dreaming.
