Get Back to Better Sleep with a New Mattress on Black Friday

Has your sleep been troubled lately? Have you been waking up with more aches and pains than usual? Is your mattress starting to feel a little lumpy from all that time spent in bed this year?

If you said yes to any of the above, it sounds like you’re ready to replace your old mattress, and there’s no better time to get started than Black Friday!

You might immediately think to purchase a new version of your old mattress—it worked fine enough didn’t it? But this is a chance for a fresh start and much healthier sleep! When buying a new mattress, you have to take a few things into consideration, like your body concerns and the way you sleep.

With these considerations in mind for your end-of-the-year shopping, we’ll help you navigate your mattress choices: comfort levels, mattress types, sizes, and beds-in-boxes!

Find Your Mattress Comfort Level

Your ideal comfort, or firmness level, depends on your sleeping position (sleep type) or if you need specific pressure relief.

Are you a side sleeper? Do you suffer from shoulder or hip pain? Then you need the soft cushioning of a plush or ultra-plush mattress for generous pressure relief for your shoulders and hips.

Stomach sleepers should avoid overly plush cushioning and look for the better body contouring and support of medium or medium-firm comfort levels. A medium comfort level also provides great support if you’ve been experiencing lower back pain (isn’t it the worst?).

Innerspring mattresses are the most common on the market for back sleepers. Memory foam is quite popular for its body-contouring benefits, pressure-point relief, motion isolation, and perfect weight distribution. So, if you sleep cool and on your side, this is your ideal choice.

However, if you do sleep too hot (ugh, night sweats), gel memory foam might be the ticket you need to cool sleep. Gel memory foam mattresses dissipate heat, circulate air, and keep you sleeping coolly. With all the benefits of regular memory foam, plus extras like joint pain relief and hypoallergenic properties, you can say goodbye to nighttime discomfort!
